The watercolor style is described as “dry brush.”
In the winter, the big trees appear even more majestic in contrast to the winter snow. Within a couple of hours from the Central Valley, I am immersed in the splendor of the towering trees. The glistening snow is a challenge to capture in watercolor since I am known as a “watercolor purist” and use the white paper to depict shades of white. The technique requires me to “save” the white, not to use the paint to create it.
