William Saroyan: Places in Time

The Saroyan Theatre is a popular venue for concerts and special programs in downtown Fresno, yet many attendees  of events held in the theater may not know the history or significance of the man the theater honors.
Join Pat Hunter and Janice Stevens as they introduce you to the early years of William Saroyan, literary great and Fresno’s native son.
Through multimedia visuals and original art, Janice and Pat will view Saroyan’s childhood home and the school where he spent his early years. Hear his words and thoughts from his many books and short stories about growing up Armenian in the Central Valley. For those who knew Saroyan, share your reminiscences of this eccentric but gifted writer. Gain a deeper appreciation of the significance of William Saroyan and his Armenian heritage in the Central Valley.
